Run for the first time (and not without a little trepidation and curiosity) in 2015, we managed to get everyone home alive. So, we'll have another go...
We'll start at just after dusk (approx 7:30pm) on Saturday 24th September. Leave the stresses and strains of the working week behind you, and come and do something spectacularly stupid. It's in the amazing Foxlake Adventures near Dunbar, but you'll not see much - see above.
A short course open-water off-road triathlon, all elements of which will be in the dark. We'll sort you out with a glowstick to put in your swim cap, and we'll floodlight the lake a bit. Lights for the bike and run sections are your problem. Our advice: bring some, you'll need them.
Foxlake will also be hosting a wakeboard competition that day, including a 'Big Air' night comp of their own. So, loads of stuff to see and do.
Once we're all done, the real event kicks off: triathlon's very own end-of-season party!. Yeah!. Beer, Music and On-Site Camping (£5/person)
This is off-road Triathlon like you've never, ever, seen it before!. Dark.
The course will be short - we're aiming for times of around 30-40 minutes. Yep, that's for the whole lot..... Swim, Bike and Run!. Assuming you don't get lost in the dark, and end up in the wild west that is Dunbar.

Course and Kit
The lake is clean and spring-fed. It's shallow for most of the course, so is great for newbies and less confident swimmers - it's designed to be a safe environment for watersports.
BIKE: Approx 4km. You'll need a mountain bike, a decent hybrid with knobbly tyres, or maybe even a cyclocross bike. Don't worry if what you've got isn't 'fancy' - you'll be fine. You will need lights of some kind. The course isn't too technical and uses great tracks and trails in the surrounding woodlands. Helmets will be compulsory though, and you'll need two working brakes.

RUN: Not far. Maybe 2km or so. You'll be back on the winding trails in the forest, and also some of the lumpy grassy stuff surrounding the lake, before you emerge at the Finish Line for Beer and Glory. You'll need a torch of some kind.
TRANSITIONS: Drink a beer in return for bonus time.

Venue and Facilities
Foxlake Adventures is a purpose built Wakeboard park set in beautiful woodland near Dunbar, East Lothian. Access is really great - the place is only seconds away from the A1, so is easily reached from the NE of England, and the Central Belt and Borders of Scotland.
The address is;
Hedderwick Hill Stables
On site there is;
- Freshwater Wakeboarding Lake with tows and features (there will be demo rides during race day!)
- Foxfall Ropes Obstacle Course (over water!).
- Acres of beautiful forests and fields
- Disk Golf Course

Camping will be available at Foxlake; it will not be fancy with electrical hook-ups etc but the shower and toilet facilities will be open. There is a fire pit and the cafe are potentially putting on a BBQ. The only thing that is hated by Foxlake are disposable BBQs used directly on the grass leaving big burn patches so, if that is your plan, please elevate them!
There will be a small charge (£5 per person camping) payable on the day to Foxlake just to cover the toilets/showers and inevitable clean up.
(don't worry - we won't be taking you over this during the race. But if you want to play on it.....!)
Entry to Foxlake Night Triathlon will be handled online by our pals at www.entrycentral.com.
