Hop Run

June 20, 2020 10:00 am

If you like great beer and running on amazing riverside trails then Hop Run is the perfect event for you!

It’s a 10K trail run with an important twist – the finish line is in Stewart Brewing’s HQ! Beers, music, food and good times guaranteed after your run.

After meeting at Stewart Brewing’s incredible HQ in Loanhead, we will whisk you by coach to the historic Rosslyn Chapel (heavily featured in the Da Vinci Code book and film) to start your 10K trail run through the beautiful valley of the North Esk River. You will pass tumbling waterfalls, still river pools, quiet natural forests and atmospheric ruins of the area’s surprising industrial past, before emerging at Stewart Brewing HQ to celebrate your achievement over a beer (the first one’s on us!). Along with your beer token you will also receive a branded bottle opener and a custom event t-shirt (if you want it!).

We’re Having A Greener Hop Run in 2020!

  1. Feed station cups are our biggest source of waste so we’re stopping using them. There will be no cups at feed stations. Please bring your own reusable vessel or we’ll have some available in registration for a small fee. You will need to carry this with you and use it on the course if you wish to use the feed station.
  2. T-shirts: some of you love them and some of you don’t. If you’re the latter, we’ll now give you the option to donate the cost of your event tee to our run charity, Bright Sparks. You can make this selection when you sign up via Entry Central by choosing No T-Shirt. Your entry cost will remain the same and we’ll donate the equivalent value to Bright Sparks.

There is the potential for this to be very muddy underfoot, so please wear appropriate trail shoes and bring a dry pair of clothes for after your run! Please note, race is for over 18s only. Under 18s are welcome at Stewart Brewing HQ when accompanied by an adult until 8pm.

Charity Partner

Bright Sparks – supporting young people in Midlothian

Money raised by the event will be donated to Stewart Brewing’s local charity partner, Bright Sparks. Bright Sparks Play Groups is a charitable organisation which provides various groups and social activities for children with complex additional needs and their families within Midlothian, supporting children/young people from birth to 24 years.

You will register at Stewart Brewing in the Bilston Glen Industrial Estate, where we will then transport you (in waves) to the start line.  The run starts at the world-famous Rosslyn Chapel and takes you on a fully marshalled 10km(ish) course through Rosslyn Glen Country Park, the North Esk River and finally Bilston Wood before returning you to Stewart Brewing.

Parking available within Bilston Glen Ind Estate, 26a Dryden Rd, Loanhead EH20 9LZ
